Thanks fishnxtc....I wish more would do the same.....I don`t know how to post pics yet and have not used kwickies, but mine would be an all red discontinued storm mag wart for drano lake...(still waiting to hear if anything is happening there or when is best time to fish it). Then there is a toss up of either the same plug in a hot tiger or fire tiger patterns for the B-run steelhead in the main channel in the fall out front of the deschutes.

Is that faded chartrues? I think I have that one, but I'm not too sure. I'll post my plugs once some of them start catching fish. Thanks for the pic. TOC

Gotta love those ones with all the teeth marks in them. Seems that no matter how ratty they get they still catch fish. My favorite looks a lot like that one but had orange tiger stripes in it also, teeth marks included

That one is clearly worn out and should be thrown away. I would be happy to take care of disposal for you. Let me know where I can pick it up.

Dave, That is one worn out looking plug. At the rate you catch fish, it must only be, what, 1 or 2 weeks old?????

BTW. It's 10:40 in the morning and you aren't fishing?

Steve

Hey Dave, if you retire a plug after 50 fish you must go through a lot of plugs.

I had to replace my favorite plug, so the new one is still in break-in mode. A week in the sun to bleach out the brights will help tune this guy, although it's already a proven fish killer.

I never retire a good plug, I use it until I lose it. Then I cry a little bit.

This plug has caught so many Summer Steelhead over the years that I really don't know how many fish I've caught with it...

I slide it down my main line when I plunk in the Columbia for Summers.

The photos don't do the teeth damage justice.Very battle scared, lots and lots of stories.

Im so afraid Im going to lose her someday...

Oh bye the way her name is Killer!

I tried to retire her but the replacement is just not up to the task...it doesn't catch fish as well, it's just not in the same class. The old plug (Killer) has a off center bill or lip, it swims sideways (see off-center wear by wire) the eye is not centered, lots of things wrong but for some reason the Steelhead hit this plug like a freight train.

Pete, I like the color combination. I too have bought a replacement for my fish catcher but have n't been able to try it out. I just can't stop using the old plug she just keeps catching fish no matter how tattered it gets.

Dean,
In order to get more hook-up with that you need to replace the treble hooks with 14/0 siwash hooks, and put a bead chain swivel on them. It is truly a SWEET lure! I'd bite...

Joe, thanks for the tip on the siwash hooks - I'll give it a try.

Actually, I wish the Moose Drool also came in "stubbies" or smaller bottles for when the fish are a bit sluggish and off-the-bite. Maybe a K-5?
