I was at the Todai sushi restaurant tonight in Pioneer Place. I was looking at their prawns and wishing that I had a backpack so I could snag some bait, you know what they say, sushi today, bait tomorrow. I decided to eat them instead. I passed on the caviar because it looked too much like the skeins I was drifting last week. Tight Lines, TOC

Ah yes, How do you like-a-your steak? I also had some fantasic sushi the other night. I was up on Vancouver Is. near Nanaimo. The place was call "Sushi Ichi", defintely top shelf. Some of the best bait I have ever eaten. Have you tried a place called "Saburro" (I'm sure the spelling is off)? There is usually a line out the door and dowm the side walk. The best in town (Portland of course). There seems to be some sort of ordinance agianst having a decent non-chain, TGI didn't get tomaine poisoning that time eateries in Vancouver, WA.
Has anyone else noticed this as well? What's the deal?

Yeah fishing is life, that's what broght me there, it was my girlfriend's birthday so she invited me along, too bad I still had to pay the $25 a plate. Grub though.

beware the grub at all you can eat sushi establishments; the only case of seafood related illness I've seen in the last two years came from Todai. You've been warned... Best keep it for bait. Doc

Todai is okay if you want to fill your stomach, but there are better places to go if you want fresh sushi, especially at $25 for dinner

Saburro is much better now that they have opened up the back to allow more tables - Best thing to do is either get there early (and I mean like 530pm) or put your name in and walk down to Caprile's for a martini. Saburros can't be beat for the price, however - HUGE portions for low $$$ - My only beef, besides the wait, is you have to order everything all at once.

My new favorite is Sushi K cafe on NW Broadway - It's my new favorite, and has more interesting things than Saburros - And unless you like to drink alot of Sake, the bill can be very reasonable.

The only problem with Sushi K is that it's always DEAD - And I am afraid that they will go under - So spread the word and give it a try!
