* Thursday March 13th from 7:00 to 9:00 pm ODFW will be holding a meeting of the Nestucca River Winter Steelhead Broodstock Workgroup.
The creation of this workgroup by the Commission was to help in implementing a study design for addressing the number and location of smolt releases for each brood year and set the criteria for M&E (monitoring and evaluation) of this new broodstock as well as securing additional funding for further research.
The purpose of the 13th meeting will be to finalize the selection of the specific tributary or tributaries of the Nestucca in which a portion of these smolts will be released into.
ODFW would also like to briefly discuss future monitoring and get your thoughts on what is necessary to accomplish the goals of the study.
Everyone is welcome to attend as well as participate. This is not going to be a pro-anti hatchery debate. (well, more than likely not)
