I'm wondering how to prepare for springers and looking for tips to increase my odds from an anchored boat.

In the past, Ive almost exlusively used a k-14 quik fish with various scents and wraps working the tides and currents off the bottom with just weight. But Ive seen people with flashers, and other contraptions when in anchored water.

Would like to diversify and will be spending a fair amount of time chasing them this year in the Siletz, Tillamook, and Nestucca rivers with some fellow IFishers.

Thanks in advance.

I use doubles, and usually run a Prawn Spinner on the bottom, and 2' up from that I use a spinner. The spinner got most of the fish last season.

I used a 2 foot dropper, and a 4/5 foot leader. I used a K13/15 wrapped with sardine. Did really well last year. My K13 seemed to catch the most fish though? Caught more nates than keepers, but had a really good time for my first season!!

I've only been around this board for a couple of months, but I seriously think that when ****** speaks, it's pretty close to words coming from a burning bush... I listen!
Thank you for sharing the wisdom.

I use a double hook set-up w/ a 4/0 and 1/0 single hooks (Owners). I use the same wire above the top hook to keep the prawn straight. I will then run a stack of beads in the following order above the hook. 1 6mm chartuse, then the wire straightner, then a stack of 8mm beads, 2 chartruse, then 3 flourescent red, then a plastic clevis w/ a brass blade,w/ rainbow green tip painted on half of the blade. I usually use a smaller blade, say a #4 Colorado. I like all colors of prawns, but especially like the red ones from BC Angling Post. We did very well on this combo last season as well as several friends who used this combo too.
On the upper rig I will run a small #4 French blade made into a Flash Glo Spinner, KILLER!!!
