Ok here is my Multnomah Chan. gator report. Got out on the water today with my best fishin buddy Joe. From the start it was one of those great days for me and one of those bad days for Joe!
The weather certianly was nasty looking but it really did not rain that much all day...

One of my first fish was this nice, fat 46" keeper, he had a couple of net scars on him too

Kept that one. I also caught several other real nice shakers. It was non-stop bites for us today. We barely had time to set down all day! I had well over 20 fish to the boat on my own!
For Joe it was a much different story. He had a ton of bites but could not set the hook for anything. He swung and missed all day. After about 5 hours a rainbow came out from behind the clouds right over Joes pole and sure enough he got his first fish, a shaker but at least he was not skunked

He ended up with a few more fish.
There was another boat below us that caught also caught a keeper as well. Caught about half my fish on squid and half on smelt. We fished in just over 70 feet of water.
Last week I had several emails on how I rig a squid. I dont know if this is the right way but it obviously works for me.
First get a nice tasty squid...

I stick the hook all the way through the body of the squid an inch or so above the head and run the leader all the way through...

Then I run it through on the other side kind of like you you would stich a football...

Then I run the hook through the head and outh the beak. I pull the hook through to the shank so the tip of the hook is right in the tenticles...

Finish with half-hitches to the top of the squid and then inject it full of scent.

Thats the way I do it. Good luck out there.
