I have gotten some e-mails asking me to start posting Sandy river fish pictures and reports again. So here is the report for today. Drifted with my (no luck) son today from Oxbow to L/C. Lots of rain today. River height and temp was still good but was starting to color up as we pulled off. All the creeks were flowing mud.
Saw 9 drifters and about 7 bankies. I herd of 2 fish caught plus these 2 + I lost 1 in the upper river and my son lost 2 in the lower river.
This fish danced for me real well, and was hooked on a plug in the lower park. It was released promptly after a quick picture.

This hen was also taken in the lower park after plugging and drifting the hole for more than 45 minutes, I decided to throw out a pink and white jig (a first cast jig), and what do you know, first cast bobber down. This is why I love my first cast jigs. Thanks Mark. The picture was taken at the boat ramp after cleaning and egg removal

My poor 15 year old son can't buy a steelhead in the boat to save his life. He finished last years run with a 1 steelhead landed for 21 steelhead on streak at the end of the season. He started last year fine but ended real bad. He has been grounded from fishing for months because of grades, but that is over now. I took him out last weekend and he lost 3, this Sunday he lost 2 and today he lost 2 in the lower river. Now he is 1 for 28  . This kid has lost more fish than anyone I know. I told him that ( if ) he ever lands another one, he needs to release it, even if it is a hatchery fish. Just to make the fish gods happy. He must have done something to make them mad. He is getting tired of watching me land fish, but he wont take any hand off's. Someday I guess his time will come again. Even though he has caught more fish then most adults he is still bummed. Heck 1 for 28 i would be to.
Nice to see you out on the River today Brian. You should have called, I would have taken you out today.
