so i guess the norm is to post a story first.
well my story is based upon chasing the ever elusive 20 pound plus steelhead.i have been steelhead fishing for about 5 years now and still have not been able to catch one that big but last year on the nestuc i had taken my cousin out..he is the guy who always wants to fish the opposite of everyone in the boat .after about half the drift i had finally talked him into changing to a plug after all with two guys in a boat, myself trying to pull plugs and him boondoggling along ,(i figure thru past experiences that we needed to have both of us with a plug on for best results at least on this day)well low and behold within two minutes of setting the rods in the holders his goes down and stays there.what kills me is that he didnt even notice until i was jumping around telling him to set the hook .dropping anchor and adding to the general chaos that ensues.well after about a 20 min fight he brings to the boat the biggest steelie i had ever personally laid eyes upon it weighed in at 24 pounds..i was needless to say happy for him but at the same time wishing that it had been me
