The Siuslaw?

The ODFW sez "SIUSLAW RIVER: Angling for winter steelhead has been good. Water conditions are ideal. Good numbers of fish have been moving up the river."

Never fished it, but after reading this, I'm tempted to give it a shot this weekend.

Can anyone suggest a good spot to hit the Siuslaw from the bank? ( Bobber n' jig and/or corkies n' yarn )

Fished it last weekend and it was very slow. Only heard of a few fish caught out of a lot of boats. Saturday there was only a couple fish in the Whitaker ck. trap.

Fishing from the bank can be decent at the Wildcat landing, and below Whitaker creek.
