I highly doubt that but I found a spot on a map of the Columbia called Martin Bluff. Looks like it might be good for sturgeon. Anybody ever fished it? I've decided that since I've heard no solid reports I'm going to explore tomorrow. I'm either headed here or MC. Thanks for any info.
I think that the Martin's Bluff fishing hole is next to the Washington shore down river from the island that has that lagoon in it where all the yachters moor in the summer. You can see it from I-5. I have cruised over it once in my boat. If I remember it is around 70' deep. Could be a spot to try.

I think some call it the "car body" hole since there is a car body on top of the rocks.
Good luck!

I have fished it and cought a few nice size shakers. I have seen a few boats in there and several bank fishers. I would think any hole that deep is going to hold some gators.
I'm going out Friday. If you dont mind letting me know how you do. I haven't decided on the chaneel or the river yet myself.

I have fished it. It is actually around 100ft or deeper. It can be a good spot. The bankies fish it off the rocks. I have also caught some good fish up in the slough that drains into the columbia there. It is shallow getting up into the slough but once your in, there are some 30 to 40 ft holes that hold some nice gators. One very important thing to keep in mind if your fishing martin bluff in the main columbia is that the shipping channel goes right up tight to the bluff and it may not be the safest place to be. Also the current is real squirly in the deep hole.
