Heard a RUMOR that there are springer at St. Helens and else where.

Watched someone pull in a Springer today down under the Sellwood bridge, But it had some sort of brown thing coming out of it's mouth,
Go down below Longview, on the Oregon side, they seem to be getting them there.

Coon Island is the place.... We saw 2 keepers and 2 lost today. We on the other hand couldnt buy a bite but the fish I saw where very bright and around 20 pounds. Trolling herring seems to be the ticket.

Coon island is up the Multnomah Channel from St. Helens. It is the first island you come to. I'd estimate it to be 6-8 miles up the channel.
Closest ramp is Scappoose Bay marina. Hwy 30 west from Portland. Turn right at Bennet road then take the first left. You can't miss it as it is just up the road on the right hand side.
Put in there and go out the bay channel, then turn right. Another alternative is the Gilbert River ramp on Sauvie Island which is immediately downstream from Coon Island.
