Here goes my story....

Fellow ifisher Grizz and I were throwing everying at them on the clack early last month with nothing to show for it. We had moved a few spots and decided to drift fish for a while. I got hung up a few times and took a seat and watched rather than rig up again. I really had an itch to try a pink worm but this was not the water for it if I wanted to run it under a float. Up river was some nice boulder water that looked like it would hold some fish. After rigging up I couldn't help but laugh at this setup. How is this thing going to catch a fish and I hope no one sees me fishing with this thing. So I make the 150 yard trek upstream and scout it out and plan my first cast. Oops a little short. Next one perfect! A drift of 35-40 feet and bobber down! The fight was on. Grizz must have heard me scream because he came running. It ended up being a 6-7 nate.

From now on I will have one of these in my vest without being embarrassed to use it.

Hi there all you expert bobber tossers! I was just wondering how long a piece of pink worm you hang off of your jig. I think I heard a piece about 3". I'd really like to see a bobber go under and see what all the excitement's about. I've tired it off and on but nothing yet. I guess I just need to endeavor to persevere until I get bit. Thanks for any help you floks can offer!

Welcome aboard Devonian
Pink worms can work well
Even better when on a First Cast Jig !!
And if pink isn't working nuttin wrong with
trying another color

To a non-fisher, standing outside in the rain when its 36 degrees outside, fishing for the fish of a thousand casts is NUTS. You're worried about what it looks like to cast a pink worm?????

Welcome to Ifish

I just love it when those bobbers go down.

I've been throwing jigs this winter while my bud throws pink worms. He's cleaned my clock lately. Need to get more pink worms. Somehow, they seem to work esp. well for hatchery fish in cold water.
