I've been noticing more corvallis members, so post and lets count em up. And to keep this thread on the main board ( must be fishing related) what river do you consider your home river? Me, the Siletz but can't beat the 30 minutes to the Alsea.

I don't have a home river really.........ive done much better crabbing in the last few months than the couple years before actually fishing. The wife likes the crab more anyway and I dont have to buy a license.......yet anyway

I prefer the Umpqua. Just move here in the fall and am not very familiar with the local rivers yet.

I just moved here in september and haven't had a chance to try any of the rivers. I hear the Siletz is good, but i don't know where to fish it. You guys fish the Yaquina? I'm going there on saturday and was wondering if there are any steelhead in there. Any info will be apreciated.
we shoud post this thread every week. what do you think?

I am a Corvallisite. 4th generation. I would consider the Alsea and Yaquina my home rivers though I love the Umpqua.

I am from Corvallis. My home rivers are The Siletz and the Alsea. But stay of the Alsea, I own that river. 30 quarts of eggs of that baby this year, all cured up for springers. Oh, I guess the Santiam is one of my favorites too.
Later.

Wow, there are quite a few of us here in Cornvally...
For me the Alsea & Siletz durring the fall/winter, the Santiam & Upper Dechutes system in the spring/summer. I try to do a liitle bit of everything, plugs, bait, bobbers, spinners, & flies. Maybe that's why I am not very good at any of them! graemlins/dork.gif

Corvi member here! Home rivers are the Eel, Trinity, Klamath, Salmon back in N. Ca. Here the Siletz and Santiam are my mainstay! Good to read about the numbers here in town. I know there are a couple not reporting and they know who they are. Lets keep in touch and hit a river sometime.

Moved down here for school and got the fishing bug really bad this year. Its nice to be able to get out more often. The Yaquina Alsea and Siletz all have worked for me. In fact after classes today im heading off to the Alsea most likely. Ill eather be in a Black Toyota or a Red Bronco say hi if you see me around.

And another "dude" from Corvallis. Like somebody else said "it is hard to beat the 30min drive to the Alsea", so I fish it the most. Just got a sled last year, so I have also been trying my hand at the Sturgeon thing. Usually hit the "south" a few times during the summer as well.

3rd generation in Corvallis, here. Grandfather is still in town, too. For all three of us, the Siletz is home. I also fish the Alsea, smaller coastal streams (Tenmile Creek), and Nestucca, but the Siletz is the river I know. It will always be my home.

Well, not really from Corvallis, but if I started a Philomath thread it would probably be a rather short one. My home rivers depend on the months of the year. For December and January, Alsea is it for me.

I'm here in cowvalley..oops Corvallis. I'm not from here though. Grew up in the Clackamas area so my home river would have to be the Clackamas. I'm trying to get my brother to drive down here, pick me up, and go fishing in the Alsea. One of these days....

Hello Corvallis fishers! Yeah, I've been in Corvallis for about 10 years, but just found ifish  . Like the Santiam's and Alsea, but also the Clackamas and Nestucca. Whereever the fish are, right.
Times are too right to sit at home this weekend, time to find a finned one.

Hey All,
Another Cornvalley folk. I have been fishing all of the local rivers for salmon and steelhead for about 10 years. I have a pontoon boat and greatly enyoy hitting the river when not so many people are around.
I also enjoy large mouth bass and carp as I have access to small private lakes within 5-10 miles of Corvallis. I would be interested in taking someone out on a large private lake for large mouth bass fishing or carp fishing if they could provide techniques and GEAR. It has prooved to produce 4-8 pound bass, but the average is about a pound. I have hooked and landed carp in the 10-20 pound range but I've hooked, and seen larger(20-30lbs)! I'm new to this game so I will see if I get any replies for this upcoming great spring. I don't even know if you guys have access to my profile so here is my email. My email is kkites@comcast.net.
My preffered fish is steelhead. But, I will occaisionally go on a lake and hammer the trout if I'm not successful on the river. Of course, unless the warmwater fishing is not productive. I'm looking for warm water techniques in this region.
C ya,
Kites-fish addict
