View Full Version : Need rod advice!
I found a Lamiglass Kenai Killer in a closeout bin. It is listed for $140.00. It was apparently a demo.
Will Lamiglass warantee a former demo rod?

That particular model is a favorite among some of the best fisherman I know.
Way to score on a good deal.

Does a demo rod have any markings on it to show it was a demo?? Ibe taking a few rods back to FM and they replaced the rods and a reel for that matter no questions asked!
How much did you get it for??
Good find if the price is right!

Caught an 18# metalhead at the confluence, on a bobber n jig, with it. It was like fighting a fish with a broom handle.I watched the tip the whole time, and even when he ran it didn t' budge more than an inch or two. Other than the kenai serries, It's been one of my better rods.Comes in handy with the crowds on the kenai. When you have to put the hurts to to 65+ pounder and turn it just to keep it from running under the prop of the fellow below you, you'll be glad to have that much backbone. One of the most stressfull things I've ever had to do with a fish!
Over all opinion: a good c&r rod.

I second that of Irie1
I also got a steelhead once bobber and jig fishing with my Kenai Killer, thought I lost cause there was no bend to the rod. But when plunking or working with a lot of lead or ocean fishing, gotta love it. You got a good rod you are looking at.

Excellent rod. You can't beat the Kenai series. I personally use my Kenai killer for plunking for summer runs on the Columbia.I know it is not rated for it, but if you know how to handle it you can cast upwards of 9oz with it! K-dog

You can't beat a Lami. warranty, if the demo is covered. My partner uses the Kenia Killer in the boat on the Trask as bobber rod and landed a 50+ lb. fish this fall. Great Rod.

Mojo, You must have been in Sportsmans. I saw the same rod and passed on it. I figured if I brought another rod home my wife would use it to beat me with.
Yep, But my wife considered it my Valentines present.

Capt. Chaos,
I got the last one. Sorry. I always look at Sportsmans closeout bin, and get lucky every once in a while.
