We hi the Cow today about 2:30.2 limets in about 11/2 h.Not great,but we got bait and the little devels are great smoked and fried.[Don't matter what some of you people think].
Most likely going back Sun Or Mon.
They were not always on the bottom,I suppose of the hi water.

I stopped at Sportsman's warehouse on the way up and bought a net. Another customer told me not to bother today, the Sandy and Cowlitz were too flooded. I didnt' feel like going home so we continued anyway. We went straight to Kelso, and found a spot on the west side of the river. There were tons of people, most were, like us, getting a smelt every 4 dips or so. We found a current seam, and whenever we swept the net through the current seam we got 4 to 8 smelt per dip. Ended up with about 3 1/2 limits for 5 of us. Probably could have got 5 limits, but I am not sure I need that many smelt. We were there from about 3:15 to 4:00 p.m.
If you are bringing kids, a lifejacket is a great idea. I had my son holding on to my daughters hood as she dipped, because we didn't have the PFD.
