Ok, I know I'm not the only gadget and gizmo geek out there! A fishfinder with a wireless transducer! The transducers are designed to tie on to your line and cast out up to a 100 feet away! (Great for all you bankies!) Anyone played with one yet? I hope the sportsmen show will have them there to test.

BOBBER DOWN!
This could be allot of fun come bobber time! Now I know how fishbait's been getting the right depth all the time? And I just thought it was an ugly green "calibrated"bobber!

That thing is really cooooollll
I want one. At $170 it's not that bad of a deal. The only thing I don't care for is that you can't replace the batteries in the transducer, you have to buy a new one.

Oh my! Oh MY! OH MY! I thought this was an April Fool's-come-early spoof then I found the product in a web search and it's . . . REAL.
Let me get this straight. I get to the head of a 300' x 50' run. I tie the remote probe on the line and stand at the head of the run. I cast a couple of times from each spot, step down 100' and in 6 casts (and what, 10-12 minutes?) I know where (almost) every fish in the run is holding?
Ladies and gentlemen, if this product works as claimed it is going to sell 100,000 units in the first year!
The heck with buying the SmartCast. Buy stock in Humminbird!

Snagly,
The better way in fast water would be to attach it to a side planer and slowly walk the run. You get parallel and perpendicular that way. With this you get to know what rock they are behind as well as depth. Does it give speed and Temp too

Geez, you might as well go to Safeway. That way you can see what your getting throught a piece of glass, and it would be cheaper!!! :hoboy:

I saw these at two booths at the Sportsman's show. They are very cool. They are small and light, it would be nice to play with one in the water.
Overall I was impressed. You will have to look as neither booth was really pushing them. They were at Boater's and at the Humminbird factory booth.
I still think that I want one

graemlins/eek13.gif Pardon my skepticisim. Somebody else's money is going to have to prove this would work in any way that's useful. I'd wait for the virtual reality glasses that are gonna make the water disapear and the fish look like their suspended in the air.
Where would the fun and mystery come from then?

I'll wait for awhile and just put the scuba gear on and collect them out of the rocks they get caught in!
I'll sell them back to the unfortunate owners at a slight discount!
I thought losing a $5 weight was bad but a $170 widget.....

I want one that would be the best.i would use a side planer on one rod and drift it out there and cast with another rod to the fish. I dont think they would concider it fishing with two rods you dont have any hooks on the fish finder and side planer. It reminds me once in californa i saw a guy running one of them cams that look under water off a big bobber he would watch the bass bite it was cool.

It works! The water hast to be fairly smooth and 2+ ft. deep but you can run it a couple times over a hole and tell how many fish and of what size are in there...Tried it in a verry small hole when i first got it and it showed 1 big fish at 3 ft. deep in a hole that was 6 ft. waited around and a few minutes and sure enough I see a nice steel head swim right up next to the bank. Only one fish in that whole so I moved on...the next whole was about 9 ft. and there 6 steelhead in various spots at about 5-6 feet. I always thought that they stayed closter to the bottom? Didn't fish just played with the new toy but It works...Bobber and eggs bring on those springers!
