Fished a Full day middle river and fished Hard and thorough. River was @ 4.9 good color from wee freshet the night before and good conditions. hooked one fish for 2 fishermen a native, which actually jumped into the side of the boat twice HARD and rattled himself good. 9-10# buck. Talked to 6-7 boats NO fish landed!! ZERO, NADA? Tough fishing...Whassuupp? :hoboy:

I think that’s the story on the Siletz this year. :depressed: The returns are just as poor as everywhere else. I floated around town on the 11th with about 15 other boats and only know of one other that touched a fish and he was a guide. Fortunately, my buddy hooked and landed a beautiful 15lb hatchery hen or it would have been a long drive home.
I heard of slightly more promising reports on the Alsea, but have never floated it. Can anyone tell me of a drift that is safe for a novice oarsman?
