I just heard that the gillnets are going in for sturgeon tell me it's not true. :hoboy:
Deep runner, It should be at this site? I looked for a bit but decided to let you find for shure. Last I heard there WAS a gillnet season this month but can't remember the specifics at this time.

Yeah it is true! Not only are they allowed a free kill on sturgeon, they can keep ALL of the salmon they take!! This includes NON-CLIPPED salmon.

That sucks. I'm ordinarily not opposed to commercial catches (non-Indian) when there are plenty of fish, but with all the talk of significantly cutting back sport catches of sturgeon this year, that seems like a lot of fishing time for the commercials. I'm going to call my gillnetting friend and chew him out a little - I'm also curious as to how much participation there will be. Most of the gillnetters I know are commercial crabbers and they make much more money doing that this time of year than trying to catch some sturgeon.
And shame on you Tyeebuster - your post regarding non-adipose fin clipped salmon was untrue - you should confirm your "facts" before you go spouting off like that.
