I am going to hit the Hood on Saturday, I should be there about 0600, If anyone who wants to fish it and doesn't know the river, I will gladly meet and show you what I know. Better if you have waders but not needed. I will be flyfishing part of the day and casting the rest. I am meeting 2 guys in tigard and will have room for 2 more in my van if you want a ride. Otherwise meet us at the Copper Dam. I will be driving a blue toyota sienna with racks. or send me an email....

Do you fish Hood R. much? I thought the run was a bit later? I fished the forks in the late 80's for trout and caught a few summers but that's about it.
Do you have much luck? I'd love to join you but I can't this weekend. Always wanted to fish it more.....keep me in mind next time you go?

Seems like the flows are kinda low at the moment... http://waterdata.usgs.gov/or/nwis/uv?14120000
There still should be some fish, but it's going to be tough. Good luck!

The winter fish just have not shown up yet. Only 5 counted at the dam so far this year. I have been fishing the Hood about 5 times a week lately and the water is going to be real low this weekend unless it rains again. This morning it was getting borderline. Almost all the fish being caught are summers. Some are pretty bright, but I would not keep any. Hopefully the winters will show up soon because even the summers are tailing off.
Note: The winter hatchery fish on the Hood have a clipped ventricle fin along with the clipped adipose.
