Sorry about this Jim,
I have to tell the story. I saw a absolutely georgeous steelhead today. You know the ones dark green back, bright silver sides. I would say it weighed around 8-10lbs. We were fishing just below the dog hole when it happened. Drift fishing, first cast towards shore about 15 yards from the boat I saw that unmistakeable tug on the end of my buddies pole. It took a few seconds but he came back on it and wham-O fish on. It shot upstream and we were both thinking right-on. It jumped right beside the boat. Nice fish!!! Anyway to make a long story short it turns out it was sagged in the belly. After getting it to the boat we finally saw that it was a native. We were both relieved when the hook popped out. I thought it strange for him to snag one when drift fishing with a corkie. That thinking all changed on his next cast. Same spot Wham-O fish on. Only this time it turned out to be about a four pound chub snagged in the back of the head. Pretty (Ugly) golden color. Over all it was a slow day on the clack we did not even hear of another fish caught so I guess it was OK for us at least we had a little action. Plus it was great giving old snagger Jim a hard time the rest of the day. Did anyone else catch fish today on the Clack if you did I hope it wasn't snagged or native????
