Took a drive yesterday with my son (and rods) down the Nehalem river road off Hwy 26 through Spruce Run Park and then all the way down the river. Saw 3 drift boats and a cataraft above the Salmonberry and another 4 drift boats in the Beaver Slide to Roy Creek area. Water was still a little high but pretty good color for the Nehalem. Any Ifisher's drifting these sections of the river? I have driven this road many times over the years and would encourage anyone looking for a great scenic drive some weekend to give it a try. The Nehalem is not the most accessible river to drift or fish but this particular drive will let you see an awesome river run through some beautiful country through the coast range.
