Sandy...Here fishy fishy fishy!?!

Welp...took the spey out today for a 4 hour tour of my favorite haunts on the Sandy. Nary a fish, nary a sory of a fish. Best I heard was that a fellow in a drift boat "saw some guts and scales on the bank a mile er so up river..." Yikes, that's not too terribly promising. Gave it my best cast, flies, drifts & presentation. The water looked awesome. No fishy today...I loved it though :smile:

I drift fished down by the boat ramp at Oxbow for a couple of hours and had only a whitefish to show for the effort. First fish of 2003 - so not a total loss. Was going to keep the whitefish for dinner but the plunkers said I had to give it to Herman (the heron) - which I did graciously :cool: . Never a good thing to let a heron go hungry.

better to feed the heron whitfish instead of smolts.
