Jim, it has been a while since I fished down there much, but they usually dink around for a half day to a day, then run back to the hatchery again. If they recycle them when the water is high, you don't get much of a shot at them in the big river. But thats just my experience.
She hooked 1 today. Lost it, but had the chance. As much as we could ask for I figure.

Jim,
We've had higher water flows down to the south of you, and those fish are screaming back upriver without being hardly touched.
It's a rare thing to get one with a punch, but some of them do bite!

Jim,
They are taking their sweet time. I believe those fish were hauled down on Tuesday when I helped clear the trap. I don't think they have worked the trap since then. At least Joe hasn't updated any numbers since then. He is pretty good about that though.
This past Saturday in the Nestucca, I caught and retained a recycled hatchery buck that I caught up near fourth bridge. According to my host, Tanner, that proves that 3 Rivers fish do stray up the Nestucca. Kinda cool!
