Hit the Elochoman this morning. Went with my neighbor who gets a 7 lb. hen ten minutes after we get our lines wet. Fish some more and then decide to move when nothing else seems to be happening. I get a 7 lb. nate after an hour of fishing. Move downriver. Five minutes, get a 7 lb. hatchery buck. 30 minutes later, get a 10 lb. hatchery buck. I went 3 for 3. A real sweet morning. The first steelhead of not only this year but this season. We were pretty fortunate, only heard of one other fish caught on the whole river all day. These were winter fish but not chrome at all. They were a little dark with some red on the sides. Nice firm meat with some good red color. All fish caught on eggs with a small amount of yarn in peach or pink. It felt really good to finally hit the upper 10% in the fish catching world for the day.

Wednesday and Friday are my best prospects for getting in some fishing days this week, so I'm hoping they're finally showing up. Nice work!

SHslayer, graemlins/applause.gif Way to go. I know what it is like to put off catching. Seems like they come few and far between anymore.
Don't tell anyone about this river and we will continue to share it. Since I live in Or. I used to fish the Elochoman and then go to Astoria for the afternoon bite on the way back to Portland.
graemlins/idea.gif Is it legal to take a limit in Wa and then take another limit in Or, the same day? graemlins/icon_argue.gif graemlins/stupid.gif
