Capt & Marie mentioned Crabbing and I started to salivate...

Could someone please tell me if there is any chance of plunking from a prop boat in Netarts (as far upstream as I can get) for steelies while crabbing the bay? is it open for steelhead, is there any chance of a bite? Plugs?

What about Yaquinna bay? same question.

If so, I am going to unpack the boat, and do a combo trip on wed and have room for 2 IFishers with gas/bait donations, and thier own fishing gear. I have two crab traps, increase the odds and bring yours! Drop at sunrise and head upstream looking for a narrow to pull plugs or?

Not too sure about the steelies in the Yaquina but I caught a bunch of nice sized blue perch while I waited on my crab pots about 6 miles up the river from the Bridge.

I've always gone by the notion that when the rivers are up the crabbing is not good. How was it at Yaquina? I'm not sure about steelheading in the bay. It does make really good combo during the fall for salmon though.

Watch your tides and don't leave the pots too close to the rips unattended. We have donated there before. :depressed: You might try T-Bay. Just as many crab and definately better fishing opportunity. Careful in a small boat please.

I don't know about the crabbing elsewhere, but I talked with a guy & his buddy who got 16 crab out of T-Bay today.

... just a thought  - Last year a friend & I dropped off our pots, made a quick run down the Wilson, & came back to pick up the pots. No fish, but good crab.

Well, I just got a call about a dog Ive been looking for and need to check out, so scratch that plan...guess I will get in line at three rivers for a shot at some chrome in the afternoon.

Will give this some more attention though...mmm craaab...D'oh

EDIT P.S. small boat? mines an 18 ft bayliner...you mean small like that, or small like 8 foot dingy?

You don't need any maps for Yaquina. Just pay attention to the channel markers and you'll be fine.

By some mud shrimp at Taylor's landing and take your sturgeon gear and anchor up near marker 25.
