How about changing the HTML code to have the main discussion board display the last 100 topics instead of the current 35 on the first page. That would prevent topics from being dropped to the second page before many have a chance to read them.

I could do that.
I changed it to 35 because it is faster to load. I think that it might be time to change it back, you are right.
