Is the Sandy or Clackamas in fishing shape after all the rain?
Some buddies and I want to try some fishing this week.

Fished the Clack Sun. & Mon afternoon. River is down 1' from Sun. Put in @ Carver fished up mostly, plugs & Diver/Bait, no action either day. I hear the Sandy is very slow as well in the Oxbow area. Wish I had a better report. graemlins/berry.gif
It sure was nice having the river all to myself both days, haven't seen that in years!!

I sat at the Sandy tonight after work to just see the river and look at the color. The river is very fishable now. It is just going to get better too. But with good water comes tons of people too. I saw 3 fish out of 15 anglers. Still slow to some but if I would of had my gear two more fish would have been caught

The sandy is dropping fast and the color is fairly decent. I fished for about 3 hours today, and like every other time I've gone out, I got zilch. :depressed:

Well, its not like last winter. Today I fished Oxbox, Dodge and above Dodge. Nuthin. No one I talked to had any fish, including the plunkers at Oxbow boat ramp. I sure would like to know why things have been so slow.

I drove by Carver yesterday afternoon, and the river was still high and brown. Visibility was about 1', and there were few guys plunking at the park with no hits reported.

hi fishbane, if you like to plunk, look at riverside, coffey hole, or carver on clacakmas river. on the sandy try at lewis and clark park and oxbow park. also dont forget meldrum bar. just look for some other fishermen. use a nice bright pink spinglo with sand shrimp or prawn 1st, eggs second. good luck.

William,
I am not saying thing here but the 34 fish in a couple days seems just a little fishy. It is possible though, and I have seen it done. You are either on fire and have a great slot you are fishing, or you are a pro fisherman with an expereinced tounge and can tell stories like the best of them. Any how good luck out there next time. And Keep up the inspiring reports

Spent two hours aways above Cedar Creek today. Saw a couple fish holding off a ledge but that was it. No fish in the hatchery pens and a full parking lot but I saw no-one hike out with any fish. Did not go down to Cedar Creek mouth myself, so I can't give an honest report on how they did. Beautiful day but the water was a tad swifter than what I would have preferred. Talked to a couple guys who have been hitting Marmot but not finding the success they had this same time last year. Late run ? Change in planting locations ? The new broodstock plantings ? All of the above ? Go figure.

I emailed William, and inquired about his success, and haven't heard a thing, either. I would like to believe him, but it's hard. I hope he comes back on and gives us some pictures or some ideas on sharing the wealth.
