Are you plunking or in a boat trolling? I know that when plunking the angle and depth of your offering makes a big difference. I have seen guys use Pink, Watermelon, half & half with or with out the mylar wings. The bait you run behind it has a big part to. For Nooks the more sent the better, Prawns, Eggs, large shrimp from the store all work on different days. Fix the bait now and vackpack for when the fishing starts to heat up.

Watermelon green with eggs/shrimp or just eggs for the spring Chinook for plunking off the bank!!!

My 3 favorite colors of Spin-n-Glo's are in this order. #1-Pearl Pink, #2- Egg Flourescent Orange, #3- Watermelon. I like them w/ mylar wings. Just my opinion.

I too have found the pink pearl to be most successful. Also, I confirm that the mylar wings are a big edge. We caught twice as many fish with these over the plain white ones. Good luck

I like pearl pink or almost any pink for that matter and metalic red with mylar wings for steelhead <size 4>. For springers I like anything with chartruse or green <mostly size 2>. These colors are the ones I catch most of my fish on but I have caught them on just about all colors I have tryed. I think the most important thing is keeping them in the water and in the fishes path.
As for bait I use prawns on the wilamette. On the big C I dont use bait. I tryed bait twice last year plunking at Tanner creek and I dont like fighting an oversize on my North River rod from the bank. I just use shrinp/prawn or anise scent.

Wartermelon was good last year and so were other colors. I had and saw a lot of success with the silver with green top and silver with red top. Some with mylar wings and some with white wings.
We fished a beach last year and had good success with bronze with red top. Then we moved about a half mile to another beach ( because more fish were being caught there) and found that color didn't work nearly as good as it did on the other beach. Go figure. The second beach is where we had better success with the silver and red and green tops. We also seemed to have more success with spin-n-glows that we put on wire with our spinner maker. Perhaps the vibration was better.

First of all, did you mean to say Springer Chinook? Isn't fall chinook pretty much over?
As far as the colors are concerned, I have caught equally well on most red, orange, pink and white colors as well as tiger striped ones. And I don't think the mylar is any better than black or white, it just depends on the water conditions and the amount of light available, imo.

just wanted to see if anybody has done this:
clip off one wing and see what happens or compare to two winged spinglow.
i picked this up in sts and gives a large twirl action for salmon mostly. try it sometime.
