:hoboy: Got my new fish regs., and was glancing through them, came upon the picture on page 15, of a guy standing up in a canoe, without a PFD on, and fighting a fish!

Canoes are useful for one thing- controlling the doughball population via drowning. :hoboy:

I think it just takes practice. My friend from Alaska hunts moose out of those cargo canoes all the time, and he's pretty proficient.
He floats the Lewis all the time from the Steelhead hatchery to the Island ramp with no problems. Of coarse I think he still wears a life jacket in case some doughball in a sled comes blasting by too close.
In my opinion I would say there are more doughballs on the tillers than on the paddles :tongue: .

ODFW & Marine Board obviously are seperate agencies !!. I've also had a lot of experience in a canoe - and a fair amount out of a canoe trying to right it. Sure wouldn't be standing up like that
