excellent news for montanan's....minnesota has a similar law......oregon has taken the route of colorado where all access is limited to public lands or pay for use as in fishing clubs...the thing that really galls me is to think that private land owners think that they actually own the rivers that run through their property.....i realize that they may legally own them due to poor legislation, but waterways to 15 feet above high water marks should have remained public and not privately owned.....any legislation to change these laws should be supported, the landowners compensated and once again letting the public be the stewards of the waterways.....this would limit usage to the adjacent land owner, but would eliminated most pollution, erosion, illegal activities, accidental spills, such as the recent brown water incident on the wilson and the excavation and fencing of the pilot rivers.....
