We decided to give Three Rivers one last shot and were rewarded nicely.

Not many fish landed. Saw one released and one other landed besides ours before we left at 2:00.

All three are hens. One was 6# and the others were 7#.

Pics didnt take at the river so we had to take some at home. The first fish has a little color and was reran once but the other 2 were FRESH fish with sea lice still attached.

There were about 20 <just a guess> fish hooked but landing them seemed to be the problem.

I hooked 7 fish, 5 were in the mouth, 3 landed <2 of which were handed off>, 1 in the top of the head, and 1 in a fin. The foul hooked fish were just popped off as soon as I saw where they were hooked. It wasnt by anymeans a hot day out there. The water looked really good to me but the fish won for most people.

Awesome.. graemlins/applause.gif graemlins/applause.gif

I was there Saturday and hooked and landed 2 of the 7 total I saw hooked, took 1 home and released the other.

Rich H......Were you using any yarn? The reason Im asking is it seems like the opposite of usual has been working. Usually the yarn gets stuck in their teeth and causes you to catch more fish but this year for me yarn seems to cause me to lose more fish. All our fish and the one other landed were on bare corkies no yarn at all. When I used yarn I lost a fish. Other people there that were hooking up but losing fish were mostly using yarn also.

I dont know if the fish are biting light and not getting to the hook good or what but 2 of the 3 fish we landed were way in the back corner of their mouths. almost like maybe they are mouthing the yarn but inhaling the bare corkies.

One other tip for everyone and I cant emphasize it enough is KEEP THOSE HOOKS STICKY SHARP!!! I check mine every couple casts and if my line isnt knicked I just sharpen it but most of the time I just tie up a new one.

Hint.......think 2 really small orange corkies

I got one on plain hot pink corky, the other on pink/pearl with white yarn and a smidge of egg. I don't usually like to fish egg in there but sometimes........

Thanx I was just curious. I use eggs there in a few of the slower water spots or when the water is high.

Gee 2 out of 3 with " seal " marks.
I still want seal skin pants for Christmas.

They actually all had seal marks. More than half of the steelhead Ive seen caught had the same scars. The reran fish had a fresher cut and a small piece out of its tale where you could see the teeth marks. The other 2 had older healed scars.
