Anybody else get theirs? I managed to go one for 2 on the Clack today. Banked one mint bright beautiful 12 lb wild COHO buck. Back in the dink. Sure wish I had gotten that digital camera for Christmas. Lost another fish after a short tussle. Repeat after me: I will re-tie, I will re-tie....Spinners seemed to be the ticket. Vis is a little too good, but obviously fishable. Went out late morning, just got back for an early dinner. Not a ton of people, but more pressure than I would have expected. A few trailers at Barton and Carver.
Hope everyone is well whether you're on the river or with family. Best of luck and have a very merry Christmas.

No fish for us. The wife and I hit the Wilson at O'Dark thirty this morning. Fished until 11:00. Had 100 yards of gravel bar to ourselves until 10 am. Only one drift boat went by. It was a beautiful morning with just enough breeze to keep your nostrils full of that country air. Only thing that could have been better would have been to touch a fish.

I picked up one summer run buck Christmas eve on the Clack in the fast water below High Rocks. He was in pretty good shape. Went back this morning for a while. Twelve guys... no fish taken.

My Dad and I hit the clack this morning. We fished hard for a couple of hours for a single strike, then on the last cast my FirstCast jig hooked into a nice steelie. I got him up to the bank, then onto the bank, and then I shouted to my Dad who was busy snapping pictures "grab him!" My Dad ran up to the fish, and to get control of it, grabbed onto the 8lb leader... SNAP! fish flops back into the clackamas with a pretty orange jig in it's mouth. I was crushed, I would have been more angry, but my dad's camera fell out of his pocket into the clack with the fish so I guess it was pretty even.
I'm still upset, though.

Yeah, my fault. Had snapped a couple of pics of youg son fighting the fish, then put the camera back in my vest pocket, but didn't zip it up. When I grabed the line it snapped and i kind of dove after the fish. Sometime in the excitement that ensued the camera fell out in about 6 inches of water and the fish escaped. Nice fish, too. Guessing about 12 pounds.

Rock don't be upset there are alot of kids who would just love to have a Dad that would go fishing with them.
I don't know anyone who has not lost a fish at the bank in one manor or another.
Fishing on Christmas day with your Dad it just doesn't get much better does it.

My Dad is away for the holidays and wife says me and the boys are saying home today :depressed: . Have a trip set up for tommorrow with them though. Hope all had a great Christmas. See Ya on the river.

Pulling into the park first! Now that alone made it a great day. Finding a great stick to break into two chunks so we could wade down the trail better, that was great. Having my dad get a strike to keep him excited about fishing was wonderful. Hooking a fish on the jigs my girlfriend got me for christmas and getting my biggest steelhead ever up on the bank was over the top.
I've got what feels like sooooo many hours into paying my dues that it is very frusturating to go home without that fish, but the freezer is already full so what the hey.
It was a great Christmas.
BTW, HBJ's "Young Son" comment was a bit of a joke I'm 25.

I had to work for mine a bit. I went to the mouth of three rivers and joined a much larger crowd than I thought would be there. I saw 2 fish landed for about 6 hooked in the 4 hours I was there at the mouth. The guys plunking down on what used to be the island got 3.
I then paid the buck to walk down river but could not find anywhere I wanted to fish open so I opted to head up in three rivers. Since nobody was fishing around the forest service area I stopped there and saw a couple of fish moving up. I made a couple of tosses and one turned on a spinner but didn't bite. :depressed:
I then proceeded to fish the hole they were heading into for about 45 minutes and finally hooked up with some eggs and a pink pearl corky.
Nice hen, around 6 or 7 pounds. Very bright. I fished another 20 minutes or so with nothing so then I packed it up and went home.

Me and 2 buddies of mine were on the Wilson on Xmas eve and we landed 7. I got a chromer chinook about 25 lbs and 4 steelhead too! What an awesome day! Learned some new tricks while we were at it too--we were nowhere near the tank either
