there were about 45 boats from Mills bridge down and heard about 2 fish. About 5 fish taken at Mills bridge for 50 anglers. Been fishing the Trask and wilson for over 40 years and have never done well in East wind. water is perfect but they shut their mouths. I know there were at least 4 guides that were skunked there today

Well that makes me feel better, I went with First Light Bite (Ralph) to the Wilson, and we were 1 for 7 fish on. Ralph got a nice 12 lb steelie, and fought a big bright chinook for about 30 minutes on the steelhead gear in a epic battle that we ultimatly lost. I was 0 for 5 hookups and couldnt get em to stick all the way to the net. Going to go to a larger hook next time. from a 1 to a 1/0. And yes, the east wind made fishing tough. I felt more like I was sailing a sailboat than rowing a driftboat.

While shuttling our rig about 11am this morning the person waiting with my boat watched about 15 fish hooked for 15 fisherman at Mills bridge.
The bank fisherman said that that was going on like that all morning long.

I stand corrected. I got the info from one of the guides who fished today. Just talked to a guy who spent all day at mills bridge and He said about 20 fish but over 70 diff people fishing

It wasn't bad, but it wasn't what I expected.
Check that, the wind was most heinous. Otherwise, not so bad. We were also a rather pitiful 4-10 fish on. Definitely 2 bright chinook (one we lost because our line had been cast over and the other guy thought he was playing another fish, though it had got a ways downstream--it happens)--with the end result being one mint bright 17# hen 'nook, and 3 steelhead, one an incomplete hatchery clip, one wild, and one keeper. Overall a fun day.
Also a note: anchored just behind 2 other friendly I-fishers at Duyks--the only other "private" boat in the hole early. You guys were in the named (KJ?) boat, and I and my meathead buddies were frothin' the water upstream of you. Though I rarely divulge my name on the river, you know who I am (the oarsman), and I really appreciated your friendliness and overall courtesy. Hope to fish around you again someday, it was a pleasure.
Boys birthday tomorrow, so y'all are safe.
But by gosh, ya wont be for long. graemlins/berry.gif
As the old Hey y'all used to repeat constantly--

Did you notice those guys on the bank just upstreap, kicking their reject fish down the bank to the water. Several of the returned fish were netted, carried up the bank and then carelessly rejected. Morons! graemlins/berry.gif
