Does anyone have any experance with Lavro brand drift boats. I'm not looking for a aluminum vs. fiberglass thread.

Don't know if they are still this way, but the ones I've been around seem to have quite tall bows. It makes it kinda hard to see well.

Watched a video at the sportsmen's show one year at their booth. They drug it down rocky slopes and even dropped it onto the concrete from 10' in the air. They are bulletproof. They have good resale for guys lookin for fiberglass boats. Never had one though. Mine's metal.

They do have tall bows, but if your 6'0" or so seeing over them isn't that hard. (especially with a couple fat guys in front) I looked at one a while back when I was shopping for a drifter and was pretty impressed. Dry storage in the rear, seemed big and roomy, their web site has testimonials and such and they say they are tough boats.
If you haven't looked at their site, check it out, I just did a search for Lavro Boats on MSN and it popped right up. I would say the one I looked at was as nice as any clackacraft I looked at.....but I ended up with an aluminum boat.....oops you didn't want to go there.

Look at the chines. Lavaro has BIG radius chines. Most drift boat builders are proud of thier sharp chines. On a glass boat sharp chines don't wear well, but they handle better than round chines.

They make fine boats.
Of course, make sure the bottom is in good shape.
If you cant see over the bow, bring a couple phone books along.

i know one thing, if you forget to pull the plug out after your summer fishing, even with a cover on it, you will have to stick your arm through 2 feet of ice water to get the plug out.I know, i just did it. graemlins/stupid.gif
