Sandy; thick with fish not people!

Thanks Andy Coho. It seems the Clackamas is getting all the attention (for good reason).

A lot of people are making lemonaide out (catching fish) out of lemons (lack of rain).

So no official winter fish has been caught on the Sandy yet (that I have heard of). But I know they are in there. I got up early and hit the water this AM in hopes of putting some crome on the bank, but little to my surprise is that the river was stacked with summer fish. With 10 foot plus visability it was tricky to stalk these fish but I was able to do something right and put some beatifully colored fish on the bank. I did not take any home, just was out to enjoy the fight.

All the fish I saw were stacked in deep holes, were suckers for a small pearl pink corkie with pink and red yard with a nickle size glob of eggs and had not been harassed for a good couple of weeks, judging by foot prints, or the lack of them.

I have not seen a person fishing Revenue Bridge since spring chinook fishing? But the fish are there!! I heard a rumor that people are not fishing above Ceder Creek because of where ODFW is stocking smolts now (mostly Dodge Park and Ceder Creek). This is fine with me leaving lots of water to myself from Ceder Creek to Marmot Dam.

Hit the Sandy again today. Somebody must have read this thread because there were definately more people out today then in the past couple weeks. No fish for me, but I did see some fellow bankie spank some fish in pocket water just behind some boulders.

Still lots of fish in there. The fish trap at Marmot has had 2 winter fish in it already, come on somebody has got to catch a winter already!!
