Grantspastor,
How technical is the drift that you took , and how is the river level . Will be visiting in Veneta , Tues. thru Friday and thinking of hauling my old wood Steele boat down.
Thanks , Steele

Steele,
Ennis Riffle to Almeda has 3 Class 2 Rapids
1. Galice Chute...run down right side tight to the bank
2. Galice Riffle...run down the left side
3. Chair Riffle...deceptive...doesn't look like much til you're in it...needs to be run down the left side, then counteract the current's tendency to force you into the bank
Water is low right now. If you want a shorter drift...take out a Galice...you miss Chair Riffle and get some great water to fish
Pay particular attention to the water below Ennis Riffle, the right side of caprenter's Island, and near the mouth of Galice Creek.
Yesterday afternoon my son-in-law and I hooked twelve.

Steele...forgot to mention...I learned how to row in a Steel Boat on the McKenzie. I have been using various wood boats for 30 years
