Hi there everybody. I've ckecking this site for a couple of years now but never thought of joining until the other nite so here I am. Well I don't really any great fishing stories , but some of my happiest ones are with my dad. Two years ago I was fishing up on the South Santiam alot and I had been doing pretty well and my dad was getting a little anxious to go with me(he hadn't fished for salmon&steelhead in 7or 8 years). So one evening I got off work early and we got up there at about 4:30 and fifteen minutes later I had a nice 10lb. springer on the bank. Well things are looking pretty good and what do you know but a half hour later I set the hook and it doesn't budge, I set it again and this time I get a couple of pulls. Well now it's dads turn So I hand it over. Twenty Minutes later I tale grab it for my dad and that smile on his face made all those skunked days worth it. That springer ended of weighing 22lbs. Not bad for his first springer on 8lb. leader(10lb mainline). My dad now has that picture framed and sitting on the counter. Time like that is what makes me love this sport. Sorry this is so long but remember I new alright.

Good story mate! I like stories with depth and length. My favorite part of ifish is the stories so the longer the better. Welcome! mike graemlins/applause.gif graemlins/applause.gif

Seems to me that there's one common denominator to the majority of introductory fishing stories here, they seem to always include a Dad! I know my best fishing times were with my Dad, so here's to the Dads of the world. graemlins/applause.gif  graemlins/hearton.gif Great story and welcome aboard.
