Yup, they are runnin scared, and I wonder why?

Didn't we (in a very nice gesture I must say) promise to leave a few of the smaller keepers and a buncha shakers tor the rest of the teams?

Plus - If they are in the right location they all can have the privledge of watching us wack fish. Isn't that enough?

What more do they want? Perhaps we need to tie their shoes and wipe their noses too?

Cowards and cheaters all, but its not gonna matter... hey, did we decide if we were gonna drive around to the other boats and gloat around noon, or were we just going to go wait and gloat at the dock at two?

Hey, Wiz, I have no need to pre-fish. The gear's ready, the hooks are sharp and the knowledge base is current and solid. The only thing that will keep me from landing a lot of fish is getting too comfortable on the sofa!

it just amazes me the number of people in this challenge that are so afraid of the fish taxi team that they have to go out and warm up there rods. i bet they are catching fish and roping them to the pilings in the area so that the day of the challenge they can add today's fish with the 7th fish and they may come close to the taxi..yep,thats it . scaredy cats, scaredy cats, scaredy cats,
your all a bunch of scaredy cats.

I sure hope that the winds die down before next Saturday :hoboy: . Went up to Rooster Rock and all you can see is white caps graemlins/berry.gif

I can understand that everyone else will be praying to the fish gods that the winds stay so they will not have to worry about the baton. . That would be the easier way out instead of having to face the music..

Dan Christopher

the winds will go away when the rain hits mid week.so no backing out " o.c flunky".

Well, I'm back! California was great, but nice to be back up in fishin' country. I missed all the "smack talk". C&E needs to change his name to CatchandEliminate cause he thinks he is goin' to put a limit of keepers in his boat. Fishalot should be changed to "Fishaknot" cause he's still workin' on tyin' those knots that don't break. FishthewrongEddie is trying to get " Texas Brig "out of jail for tying sturgeon up to the log jams so he can win on the 7th. Madlizard needs a "curse" to help his cause. And the "Downrivernotsobrites", well let's just say that's a good nickname  Hope all you guys had a great Thanksgiving with your families. Wish that I could be apart of the "Gator Good Time" on the weekend...
Good luck to all of you. Be safe !! Terry

From what I hear C&E had to go to rehab becuase he was not able to get graemlins/program.gif all weekend. Seems he had a nervous break down after his fishing trip Friday. From what I hear he didn't even get a bite  Started to look at the field of players and his knees started to shake his stomach start to roll
Bernie where are you????

Dear Finished Eddie,

I am writing this letter to inform you that it is not to late for you to back out and accept the BATON gracefully. Obviously you were smack starved this weekend beggin for someone to egg you on. Your ego must be crushed that the Great Catch and Eat would not acknowledge you. Don't worry sonny. I will be floatin by you to show off our keepers and provide you with some "motivational speaking". :hoboy:

Mr. Madwizzard. Taxi ride will be about all that comes aboard that banana boat. Sure won't be any fish in it.

Hey Waterdog, how was the water Friday? I drove up but it was aw'fuly nasty water. Ended up going down to KP. No wind at all. No keepers either. Did manage to put the hurt on keepers Sunday afternoon though. Muhahahahahah..... Dude, the countdown is approaching. Are ya practicing your "side-step" Junior?

Yapsalot. "I am all smacked out", cry to your mommy kiddo.

Terry, welcome back.

Crash&dent, I was out at T-6 on Friday. We did ok but no keepers. Was out Saturday too. Tacklebuster and I fished next to each other. We took the fish to the wood shed. We went home with keepers. Lots of fish in the 36”+ slot. I know where I will be come Saturday. Side stepping  Me? I don’t think so. You better where extra socks for all the back pedaling you’ll be doing. Hey, you were out two days in a row? Momma’s going to make you pay for that.

Fishinginaglassofwaterfirst, where were ya? To scared to come play with the big dogs? Oh yeah you were still trying to find some bait. :hoboy:

Where did Texas Jig go? He did not even post a team. :depressed:

Pitch Pocket, "Team Just the Facts"?? Sorry, you cannot escape the smack talk. You and Miss B Haven down in the ST. Helens area huh? Well, you big tug boat boys let us know how many shakers you get. Please take photos too. We need a good laugh.

Well we know you will be crying anyway.... "it's too cold"... "there are too many boats here".... "the waves are too big"......."all I can catch are shakers".........you bunch of sissies!

OK Fishnotsorite how can you trash talk me when you are whipped so bad by your mama that you have to paint Sat instead of going fishin. I thought you were retired. Tacklecrusted,

Will you be out at T6 crying with waterpuppy on Saturday? Don't you know that there are only shakers left on those clam beds!

Perhaps after I'm done putting the whoopin' on the REAL fishermen up the the fishery, I'll come back down there and show you up as well!

If you get too cold out there, just give me a call, I can stop and get you some hand warmers so your itty bitty fingers don't get too cold, or is your mommy sending your mittens with you? graemlins/berry.gif

You might as well give up some of those smelt you have, you guys are just going to waste them on the little fish anyway. They might as well go in my boat, at least one of us could get some use out of them

See you out there.

Wow, the Texas Rig is going to make it. Billy I thought you were going to be like Fishrite. One of my boat mates refers to that kind of stuff as being a "skirt wearing poodle walker".

Leave them Crappie heads at home. Those things are an unfair bait. Of course if ya have to be off the water so soon to paint or something I'll understand. BTW, I gotta see ya gut a gator Texas Style. :hoboy:

Terry if ya do show up please stay down wind of our boat. Maybe you can fish T-6 area next to the "its to cold up there" club.

FishingmanIwishIhadarealboat,

Maybe you should read some of the weekend posts for a third time. :hoboy: I know we use big words but read s....l...o...w....e....r..... Or you can dumpster dive in my garbage can and look at what sturgeon carcass looks like if you need a visual aid. We got our keepers. Nice fat ones too. No skinny snakes for us.

So while your running all over the country side looking for bait  we will be fishing. You know the activity where you have a rod and reel, and the line actually gets wet by the river, not by you slobbering all over it.

You might as well give up some of those smelt you have, you guys are just going to waste them on the little fish anyway. They might as well go in my boat, at least one of us could get some use out of them <font size="2" face="verdana, arial, helv">Your the only sturgeonfisherwannabe that has no bait so now your begging for it. Have you no shame?

Good luck, your gonna need it.

Wish I had known that some of you wanna bees needed bait. I had to make room for some Halibut in the freezer a few months ago, and so I tossed about 6-8 packs of smelt. Kept plunty but would have gladly given you those packs of smelt on the 8th as opposed to tossing them out.......... Too bad,, so sad

Waterpooched,

Ok I took your advice, looked back to your reports, I see one from Tacklewasted at 42" and one from you at 47", LIKE I SAID......you are just wasting the bait on SMALL FISH, if that is what you consider decent fish, then you better stay home! Oh that's right I forgot, too many syllables there to confuse you, I'll get my crayons back out and draw you a picture of a small fish compared to a big fish! graemlins/berry.gif

Maybe you should consider a clambake rather than the clam beds down at T6! It might be more productive for you.

Glad to hear you guys caught fish, sounds like you had a couple of good days on the water, wish I could have been there, but had to spend the holidays with the "out-laws".

Fishbait, Your such a thoughful guy. Give them the bait on the 8th when the challenge is on the 7th. Like I've said before. Beattle Bombs will sneak up from behind to pass you all by while your gauking at each others aquarium size fish your going to be catching.

Gladsissors, I hear you'll be available for taking those with weak bladders back to the dock. Just call up the yellow taxi on VHF. He'll drop anchor and pick up your passenger for free, cause he won't have anything better to do while he's there. graemlins/lurk.gif

Thanks for the advice ******. That is a steep ramp for sure. Only folks with manly trucks (4x4's) should use that ramp. The one at Beacon rock is not any better. BE CAREFUL!!!!

I think we all have pretty good judgement and will be looking out for one another. Except for Rod. I'll make sure he backs that truck of his clear up to the rockers.

Oooooookaaaaaay...........

Plenty of insecure sturgeon Catch-in-nuttin WANNABEE's laying down trash here. If you have to ask where the fish are, you're probably toast. If you need to find or beg bait, you're most likely history. If you're just learning about fresh water clam beds, OMG! graemlins/1zhelp.gif You may as well just plan on a boat ride Saturday, and a cold one at that. Just use this weekend to help you catch a couple of gators in the FUTURE!

I hear the fishery is really nice this time of year. With only a 35 mph wind blowing freezing air down the gorge, the wind chop should stay under 4'. All your little open sleds should have no problem negotiating the frozen ramp and those ideal conditions. Get there early while it is still dark and really cold so you experience it completely. We might get the Coast Guard to send a small fleet up there to save your sorry behinds when it gets a little snotty.

When I go sturgeon fishing, I just go about my business, find em, hook em, land em and filet em. It's a pretty simple process ...... if you know what you're doing! Not a whole lot of boasting necessary, especially when you look at the numbers.

Mel, I think you might see a bunch of these guys high-tailing it down around the corner to calmer waters. They should be there by about 10 am. By that time, we should be well on our way to having our fish. :hoboy:

Ok, is that the requisite trashing? Now I hope I catch a fish Saturday!

Don't be scared boys and girls. Cold is fine, rain is fine, Wind is a FACTOR. Should the winds be TOO great and issue we will relocate down river with the rest of the grandmas and grandpas. That decision can be made Friday when it really counts.

Don't ya just love it when someone tries the psych-out method to smack talk. It's Cold, it's wet, bring your heaters, there MIGHT BE A LITTLE WIND :hoboy: You sound like Matt Zafino my friend. He's always wrong.

Let's just hope the only wind blowing Saturday is from the taxi boat. And we all know that Waterdog is full of hot air so that should solve any "I'm Cold" issues.

Wiz, UG & BB,
I got that issue with ODFW all cleared up, had to meet with whats his name, Tom, who is in charge of Sturgeon for the state and the director, but the phone call from the Gov. seemed to help. (good job BB) They have decided to go ahead and let the 4 of us fish together on Sat. Tom is Fed X'ing me another 3 dozen tags and requested that we only tag the fish we release that are over 50 inches. That was in their original letter and we kinda did agree to do this in our first meeting with Tom. With the 17 tags that UG has we should be fine. In addition Tom agreed to double the amount of the latest "Sturgeon bite and feeding stimulant" (remember he called it " Magic Powder" at the meeting) that they have been using in their breeding and stocking programs. Remember we all signed non disclosure and non dissemantion agreements regarding the use of Magic Powder. I like Bankbounds idea of just fishing two rods at a time, it will help keep things less hectic. Ok, I think we are all set. The caterers are confirmed, with the first delevery at 8:30 and then lunch at 11. They will be using two different boats and have the cell numbers. UG, you need to confirm what type of sausage you want with your eggs benedict and I choose the orchads for the centerpiece at lunch. Last item, Wiz, please see what you can do with the Field and Stream people, I just don't see why they need two camera boats, Those photographers tend to get in the way sometimes. And don't worry if you can't get that other electric seat heater to work on the low setting, it will be OK. Well that should do it, see you all the ramp at 8:15............ FB

Hey Madwiz - Wish I had seen your post before I left last night. Spent an hour going from one end of the room to the other, table to table just lookin' for ya. The wife was sitting over by the presents sharpening up her knife!
Nobody told me that you even shorter than Roy and I should check UNDER the tables! What the heck were you doing down there anyway? Never mind- don't want to know  .
Did you warn your team that they are all going to have to take on the "incredible shrinking team" pose when you guys slink back to the dock after dark Saturday empty handed? Sheeesh - I hope nobody calls the CG cause 'cause your missing! Oh wait - now that I think about it - who's going to miss anybody on your team 'cept the Sturg? They just get a free meal from you guys on every drop.

Man there is more flap jaw here than James Bond has women. :hoboy:

I got to tell ya boys. I met some of you guys at the party last night and I could not control my laughter. The thought of some of you folks with a fish on is really laughable. Heck some of you guys can't even hold a fork right non the less a rod. You expect to catch fish? Please, just give up now.

Actually, it was good to meet you folks last night at the toy drive. You all behaved well and from what I could see the wee ones were having a good time too.

Nuf of that baloney. Waterboy, you may as well just break that rod of yours in half now. That is about as useful as it will be on Saturday.

Fishnotcaughtalot, good to meet your family last night. It will be nice for you to have a support group to cry with come Saturday night.

Badgizzard, the only guy there with a camo hat on. Must have been to hide from Must be shaven. He was lookin for you last night. His wife had some kind of scaboard hanging off here right hip and a T-shirt that said "JUST BOBBET".

Uglygreen, now there is a force to be recond with. I just can't believe you did not bring all those clippings from fishing and hunting news to show everyone.

Folks, it is now less than 48 hours to cry'in time. Are ya feeling a little tense? Mouth a little dry? teeth chattering? Knees knocking? Good, you should be afraid. Very afraid. muhahahahahahahaaaaa.....

after talking to your team last night, I don't even think I will trash talk you this morning. I feel so sorry that they have to fish with you that I don't want them to feel worse. that picture that spooled was showing me last night of you sleeping with the make up on was hilarious.

dead weightie
if you were talking to ( smells a lot) you would know that he thinks i am a god.all he could do last night was ask me where he should be fishing, where to start and if he could anchor next to me. he was telling me how he has fished with you before and that i was giving you to much credit, and that i don't need to worry about your team,,like i was worrying.

I was going to introduce my self last night but I thought I would let you enjoy that last couple of days you have left, that you wont be hanging your head in shame. That puzzled look on MadWizerd's face wasn't plotting how to get that piece of pizza, it was wondering how was he ever going to catch a keeper this weekend with a boat that looks like a BANANA!!! Maybe you should switch to the MeanGreenCatchlessMachine of UG's

I can't wait to hear this weekends story.

"headline" Hogmaster boat sinks after being overloaded with dead weight. All survive after the captain of the boat issues each fisherperson a pfd like BATON!!!

That is the look of worry on MW's face. I don't think it was just gas. Kind of looks like someone questioning "Whats a sturgeon???"

Fishlessbait- Yeah, I heard that too that you needed special permission for all 4 of you to be in the same boat. They wanted to make sure the dang thing can still float with as much bullpuckey as it will have to hold this weekend! I mean, 4 guys in a yellow floating banana trying to hang out with the big boys catching keepers!   Yeah, no small wonder there's going to be more than one camera to capture that precious moment! Heck I might even bring mine to capture the look on your faces when you get spanked

CATCHlessANDdeFEATed, you're really not fielding THAT team are you? I mean, a guy named Spooled obviously can't fish! And Pops? or was it really poops mispelled (cause that's what he's gonna do when if he actually does catch one!) And Uncle Bob? Jeez, we all got one of those, nothing noteworthy there! I'm certainly not a small guy! So, he obviously won't be able to find us, let alone a keeper sturgeon! (Hey MW, sorry I didn't get a chance to say hi last night at the party! A few minutes later a phone rings.
skrimmy lifts his palm to his ear. When he
finishes talking he explains, "That's my mobile phone. I have a microchip in my hand." " just got the call that my baton is ready."

Miss B Haven, feeling decidedly low-tech,
steps out of the sauna. In a few minutes he
returns with a piece of toilet paper hanging from the crack of his butt. The others raise their eyebrows.

Miss B Haven says
"Oh, excuse me. I'm getting a Fax."
"yep, we just lost the sturgeon challange to madwizerd's team"

Madwizzard, hope you got that taxi back together. Better sleep in and get some beauty rest. That way you will take a better picture.

You guys are right about the crow thing. Crow is the exact thing that will sum up my tally for tomorrow's butt whoopin

C- caught more keepers than you knuckleheads will in a lifetime.

R- released a couple of more limits of keepers cause we already had 3 monsters roped off.

O- oversize fish that was played and released as well.

W- waterdog anchored up next to me taking the fish to the wood pile as well.

R- really wish fishingfirst was here so he could show me how to catch keeper sturgeon.

O- Oh my! Toto we are not in Kansas anymore

W- work was my excuse but now I don't have one......how do I get out of this thing gracefully, I'm in way over my head!

I think you guys must talking but all I hear is BLAH, BLAH, BLAH

Wait a minute.... I'm reading between the lines. What your really saying is....
Please Mr. Tacklebuster sir, please don't take us to the wood shed. Pretty Please......

Bow out gracefully.... graemlins/stupid.gif
You better get your goldfish net and head down to the Cowlitz FishingwithnobaitandnorealboatFirst. I hear the smelt are coming in :hoboy:

Here's an graemlins/idea.gif You can buy some smelt from the fine folks at the fishery. I'm sure it'll be more expensive that a 1/4 k diamond and smell as bad as Cry and Weeps breath

See you guys on the river.....

He's a fine addition to an already strong lineup. Just sorry you'll have to hear from him firsthand later on how to catch a keeper!

It won't be windy where we're gonna be, nothing but laughs, keepers, brunch, and maybe a couple O'sized. In that order, no less!

Well the first ever Sturgeon Challenge is now history. The Baton will soon be awarded. The crow has already been eaten for the teams that did not produce. Braggin rights belong to those that produced results

Congratulations to the teams that scored. Great job on a tough fishing day. It was a most beautiful day out there. By noon it was just about shirt sleave weather in the middle of December. Can't beat that.

Now we need to pray for rain. Rain enough to get the river levels up so that we can get our boats up and down our favorit rivers for those pesky steelhead.

I close this thread now but not before thanking Jennie for allowing all that server space to be taken up with sensless drivel and testorronic chest beating. Thanks Jen. We appreciate it.

On to steelhead and then to springers. I already know that Fishalot is looking to hand off a BATON for the springers so watch out you potential BATON holders. you know who you are.
