A very nice gentleman just dropped off a gorgeous young male lost springer at our home. (Oh goodee ) I am a softy, and I couldn't turn him away. He didn't know what to do with it, because he couldn't house it at all.

He found the springer way up the Kilchis on the logging bridge road, shaken and running.

I called our "humane society" which consists of a local vet who has a dog with parvo, presently, and cannot take in any strays. She told us any dogs dropped off would immediately be euthanized.

This is an incredibly beautiful springer. Mostly white, with some liver. Looks pedigree, looks birdy, too. Not neutered, wearing a red collar.

Seems very even tempered and a little shaken. Not hungry.

It's a problem for us, because Bill's lab does not take well to new dogs at all. The dog is presently residing in our garage, and I'm heart sick for it.

If you know anything about this dog, please e mail me, immediately.

Thanks,
Jen

Jennie - does the vet have a chip reader? He/she could scan the dog to see if it has a chip. You might also look at his ears for a tatoo.

Vets are closed. First thing in the morning, in for a scan.

Keep me posted - if you can't find the owner, I might have someone who would take him off your hands.

What is the status on this dog?

The status is that he's wonderful, and David, my son, has offered to keep him in his room, rather than the garage.

I love this dog. I wish I could keep him. He immediately snuggled on a blanket, and layed down. I think he's sore from wandering.

I hugged him, and he whimpered, like he was sad. :depressed: I want him to be loved. :depressed:

I'm taking him to the vet to be scanned in the morning. We went down to the logging bridge, and put up a FOUND DOG sign.

You know, though, when you look at his eyes, he looks like he may have cataracts. Maybe he's old, rather than young?

He smells like perfumed soap, like someone gave him a bath, recently.

What a nice, mellow pet this fellow is. He's easily adoptable, if we don't find the owner. He's a lover, and a good friend for someone.

I sure wish we could keep him. He's right up my alley. graemlins/hearton.gif

I'll take a pic in the morning. If nothing else, I'll have to drive him to the pound in Portland.
:depressed: I don't want to do that.

I found out indeed, it is an old dog. I looked at his teeth. Duh.

Anyway... Sweetest old dog you could ever dream of. I'm so sad, because this makes his adoption even harder, if that will be the case. :depressed:
He slept with David last night, in his room. No messes... Just a happy dog in the morning.

Talked to Jan Martin today, already. Called her a couple days ago.

Anyhow, the dog has been foster placed, but still looking for the owners, so I will keep this up.

Thank you,
