First Bite

I did some field testing on Friday and had some good results. I carried four rods rigged up with new jigs and I rotate them through the drifts to see if one works better then another.
It was my turn to cook too so early on I landed and kept one nice hatchery buck. As the day progressed I would find a few more willing biters. Around mid afternoon I was up high in the canyon when I hooked this beauty

She was absolutely mint and around 12 pounds. She was also fish number six landed and if I kept her then I was done for the day. Since the ODFW wants the hatchery fish removed from the upper rivers I gave her the wood shampoo.
Five of the six fish landed were caught on one jig. This jig is a beaded pink Tail Flasher with a white tail and pearl Krystal Flash.

The other fish was landed on a purple Tail Flasher.
