When the rivers start dropping to their summer levels, this can be the best time for sight fishing for summer steelhead. Wear darker color clothing and use polarized glasses to spot resting fish. Once you spot a fish cast your offering 20-25 feet in front of the fish and let it drift naturally towards the fish. Keep your slack line to a minimum and if you're lucky, you can watch the fish take your jig. Red, black and purple combinations work great this time of the year.
