Anybody got some info or some internet sites where to find affordable Fly Rod Blanks, i'm lookin for a 9'
5 weight. Doesn't have to be Loomis or Sage, but i'm not lookin for a crappy rod either.
Thanks

I am just getting into rod building. I dont have alot of cash right now, so I bought a factory second from a guy on ebay. he has a site
www.Rod-blanks.com (http://www.Rod-blanks.com) , I am not sure but I think they are Lamiglass perigree blanks. He does have the line rating and length, but he wont say who they are originally from. He just said a "major manufacturer" and his contract doesn't permit selling them as name brands.
The blanks are nice for the price. I paid twenty for mine ( not advertised on his site)
They are pretty deep green in color. mine has small inclusions in the finish, nothing major, and well worth 20.00
I guess I will find out the quality when I get through building it and give it a shot. This is my first rod build so I didnt want to mess up a good 100.00 rod
I do have some older lamiglass, graphite 5 weight flyrods. these have been built except for the guides. I picked them up to practice rod wrapping. For a fair price I might sell one. I can get you the model # if your interested

You could also take a drive up to Woodland and look at anglers workshop. They've had a catalog business as long as I can remember and they've got tons of diffrent blanks as well as seconds.

Hi,
Check out St. Croix blanks from Anglers Workshop.
I have built 2 rods using the Ultra Legend blanks and love them.

 Rainshadow
I too would suggest you look at the Rainshadow or the Forecast blanks by Rainshadow. They are both very affordable..
and both very good blanks.
