I dont know of any pay holes in Tillamook other than Josi's pay to park and The Hospital hole.
They may also have something on the rock hole on the trask.

The tailout at three rivers is 1.00 to enter. This is a great steelhead drift. Caught many a fish there.

Sliversliger2001,
How do you get to the Place you are talking about? I have been going to the gravel launch at 3 rivers and there is no fee there. some guys come in from the other side of the river above us. Is this where you are talking about? if so, how do you get there? It seems the drift is more on that side with more fish being hooked. Any information is greatly appreciated. Tight Lines, Tom

---------On the other hand I know city-folks in Oregon who gladly pays 150$ a day for sitting all day on their butts in a guide boat, only horsing an occasional biter in once in a while using 40lbs line and heavy rods, where is the fun in that??? ---------
Very true, but they are having fun. For some it's not the getting but the having, unfortunately.
Lots of people who work too much or have obligations may only get out once or twice a year so they feel it is worth the $$$.
Let's see, take my days fished per year, all costs incurred divided by fish caught....Hmmm, they're getting a good deal.
On the other hand you can't put a price on the experience..
cheers!!!

Hummingbird,
The spot you're thinking of is th Jackson drift. you access that by driving north on 101 and cross the bridge, when you get to the corner just past the bridge there is a road that takes off to the left. (can't remember the name)
There is a gate with a can you drop your buck into and its a pretty good hike to the river. The spot sliverslinger is talking about is on the west side of the parking lot at the mouth of 3 rivers, walk down through the parking lot and there is a can hanging on a fence post. Deposit buck and fish.

Glad you appreciated my INFO about the pricelevel for fishing here. The good part though is that once you pay your 200-400 USD, the hole is all yours for the day, and you don't have to worry about unregistered boats, armed fishermen or snaggers the whole day. And if you really fancy a particular hole (and if you at the same time happens to be extreamly rich) you can usually bargain a deal where you pay for the fishing right to that hole for the whole season, and it'll only cost you around 100 GRAND. This guy who owns the Olivetto company payed much mare than that annually for a very nice river stretch in Norway some years back.
On the other hand I know city-folks in Oregon who gladly pays 150$ a day for sitting all day on their butts in a guide boat, only horsing an occasional biter in once in a while using 40lbs line and heavy rods, where is the fun in that???

Compared to your list, this one's kinda marginal, but for completeness you might want to add the BigBarn marina on Tillamook River.
For the launch fee you can also access their point of land on the Tillamook, which is opposite the public fishing platform - which most folks favor - but I have seen people bank fishing on that point.
I'm not recomending this point as a hot spot, but since you're compiling a list....

Isn't the "tail out of 3 Rivers" as you all are calling it known as the High bank hole and Elblow hole? Never heard it called tailout of 3 Rivers, that through me. The real tail out of 3 rivers if fishable without paying.
High bank and Elbow are entirely different holes than the real tail out of 3 Rivers drift.

Gus,
You used to have to pay to fish the lower end of the island on down. I don't know if you still do or not since I'm generally in a boat.

RichH, where were you on the bumper boat game yesterday; I saw on another post you were down there yesterday as well. I floated from 3R to CD. Take note of the word floated and not catching. :depressed:
Great day to be outside anyway.

Hello,
I have never heard of "paying for holes" before. Can someone explain who charges, and the details of this? Sounds strange to me.

Strange to me also . I can only assume that they are talking about paying to use private land to access these rivers. I have never heard of this before. But living in washington I suppose things could be different down their. I know their are some private land owners in washington that charge a fee to access rivers and other fishing oportunities thru their land.

Donaldsons use to be pay to fish years ago. The pay box has been overgrown by blackberries for years. Since the river has changed its mainly just a put in now.

Its basically an access fee to cross the private land. Most of the time its set up as an honor system though I do recall a farmer over on the Miami that would ride around on an atv and collect the cash that way. He would hand out little raffle type tickets as proof of payment.
Gus,
We put in at Farmers and floated all the way down. Should have stayed in the first hole as thats where we found the lions share of fish. We did hook one bright one in highbanks but he had other ideas besides a wood shampoo. graemlins/1zhelp.gif
After a while it got pretty hard to find open water to fish. :depressed:

I've fished the tillamook area for years and still don't know where the josie hole is. Can anyone help me? I tried looking in the past, with no avail. Is it a boat ramp or just bank access? If I can find it I'll fish it on wed. graemlins/1zhelp.gif
