Well, I'm bummed. Since the forecast was for winds 20-35, gusting to 45 I decided to cancel my trip to the river today. :depressed:

It's been dead flat calm ALL Day in the Eastern Columbia Gorge! Just started rainin' lightly and blowin' about a half hour ago. Granted, it's been in the mid thirties and dark all day, but NO wind... Grrrrrr...... :mad: :mad: :mad:

There's always tomorrow...... unless today's forecast happens tomorrow of course.... Tim graemlins/stupid.gif

Not enough wind and ducks. Not enough rain for fish. Was dead calm in the PM, this was supposed to be the windy part. :depressed:

It sure brought the deer out! 11 does and 3 bucks but no good shots.

Was very windy on the Nestucca today and the water is still pretty low with a lot of leaves. Saw some dark fish rolling. I didn't fish so don't know if any bright fish were hooked. We still need major rain on the coast.

The OCt-Feb stretch is when we get the majority of our rain, esp. November and December. Oct was a dud, and November is just puttering we could be in for trouble.

What a bummer of a storm. Waited to go out to the island for a windy rainy duck shoot. Got out there about 2 pm and really needed sunglasses and a 9 iron. Darn geese are sure smart. They were lighting in our ponds and checking out the new decoys. Have you ever heard geese make noise like laughter? The heck with it and back to the clubhouse and a little cheer. Dang geese! We'll see who laughs next Saturday when the season reopens.
