No fish for me. Fished above the hatchery in the fast water. Lost one fish, only felt it for a couple of seconds. Saw lots of dark fish swimming by but couldn't coax a brite fish to play with me.

Anyone having any luck fishing at night lately? Been wanting to go do the glow ball thing, but haven't had the chance yet.

Not this year. I have been told from the other fishermen down there that its been good night fishing.
Last year night fishing for the winter steelhead was killer.

Did you fish "your drift" for them at night? Or at another location?

Thanks Mike,
Elaine caught two just like it today (a little bit brighter) in the same "spot". She sure can put a whoopin' on those fish.
I struck out today. :depressed: I will be out there late afternoon on Sunday.
See ya.

High_Arc,
It seems to me that the morning bite and happy hour are the best. I haven't had a whole lot of luck fishing at night.

Sounds about right. :hoboy:
I guess happa is the place that I will be tomorrow. Now does anyone know if you can cross over onto the islands down there at the happa boat ramp and fish the back side right now?

When I night fish down there I like to stay on the North side of the river and drift glow corkies right below the hatchery. Last year when the water was up high, it was killer down there. only cast maybe 3-5 feet past the cork line and let it drift down. I hooked more steelhead night fishing in one night then I did the whole winter run.

Landed two at the end of the fast water on the corner last night. I let one go and kept this one. Using darker oranges and red with shrimp scent.

Thanks for the info. I used to fish at night off the island below snaggers rock. We would cast across the river, basically in the same spot you are talking about. It was usually alot of fun. Thanks again.

Looks like the winter fish are starting to trickle into the SW Washington rivers. Caught this smaller hen tonight. Not too many fish being caught. Moderate effort, low results.
