Well After many many years of fishing my 30lb maxima ultra green and applying my line float every 30minutes for bobber fishing I'am ready to spool up something new on bobber pole #2 and #3 so what are the I-fisher's suggestion for line. Well floating line that is... Tuff line, spiderwire, fireline, what is it that floats so good and still has the power to bring in a hog and thumb him if necessary?

Also something that would go well on my jig and bobber pole a little lighter line of course but the same results something that floats would be good?

Trolling!!! always stuck with my Ultra green for it too...Heck I used Ultra green for everything lol. Is there a line for trolling that gives a kwickfish more action makes the bite more sensitive too the pole I see so many differant lines at there you know sensitive action, maximum trolling blah blah blah....Just don't have the free time to research everything so I thought I would open it for suggestions. Is there a trolling line for diver and bait that is differant than say trolling with a kwickfish or trolling with a cut-plug herring...? any suggestions of line would be great I'am ready to experiment with several types and see what I like....Thanks for all the help I-fisherman and the suggestions... Any related topic on differant lines for differant fishing is a welcome I'am ready to hear everything lay it on me

Can't go wrong with 50-65# tuf line or Power Pro (both made of Spectra) They float too.

Ive looked into the power pro line. They have high res. yellow and moss green. Any suggestions on what you guys like ... Yellow too bright in the water...? Also you just run power pro too the swivel? and then run a 3ft or 4ft leeter of that of something else or do you just go straight power pro all the way?

65# power pro to a swivel 30 inches of 30# mono to hook . the stuff is durable enough I have used mine for three seasons and will use it another. Tim

Fire line seems to be a good line for bobber fishing. It floats well and they have the hi-vis yellow and regular green.

If you're going to fish 65lb line you might as well fish 80. Fish don't see your mainline when you bobberfish anyway. I do believe it floats higher in the water too. As far as durability, I'm still fishing a few reels loaded with 80lb tuff+ over 4 years ago and it seems as strong as new.

Ive been using 50lb Tuff line XP for bobber fishing, trolling and plugging. It works great! I have the hi vis yellow line. Its the only way to go. You always know where your line is.

Im jumping up to 80lb on a couple rods. I like it better because it doesnt wrap around the rod tip as much.

Hey there Gotfish

My opinion

I've been using #80lb Tuff line for 2 years now same spool same line and it's great stuff and like Salmonator said it does float a bit higher. I switched to #80lb cause I first started using #50lb Tuff line but that stuff is so fine and slick that it has a tendency to dig in on it's self @ the spool when you try to apply the brakes on a BIG fish and when that happens during battle say good by to your leader (fish). When it comes to entanglements #80lb is easier to work with, Don't get me wrong Though #50lb is great stuff to, just needs a little more attention.

Now, I don't know about the other brands of floating line I just noticed this with the smaller diameter Tuff lines.

You'll notice greater hook sets with any of the non memory lines and that's a bonus when fishing 12-20 ft of water
just be careful w/hook set cause that is a winching line keep in mind you sill have mono at the end (Snap)

OK I think I'm done Rambling, Too much coffe

Hope this info helps
