Hey, another milestone! I got the paint and chine on the boat. All is finished and sealed with adhesive (3M goodstuff), some silicone, and a good coat of epoxy resin, not necessarily in that order. Tomorrow I flip it over and lay in one small area of fiberglass reinforcement, a second coat of spar urethane on some wood areas I sanded down, some fresh paint on the stripping apron, add the drain plug, and she is done!
Here's the paint job before the chine.

Here is a shot from the bow showing the chine. It is a bit dusty, but she shines pretty bright when she is clean.

Any suggestions for a name? The only one I thought of was a bit lame, Dogfish Dory. Help me, please.
Thanks for your encouragement throught the rebuild!

Great Job! Its hard to believe this is the same boat that you started with. You have to be proud of the work you have done.

Very nice, trying to put the finishing touches on a old wood boat also, but doesnt look as nice as a job that you've done.

The paint is Pettit Easypoxy and the color is a blend of 3624 Bright Red and 3531 Chocolate. The person who had the boat before me had mixed them just to see, and it turned out to be a nice unique color.

i find it if you incorporate your significant other's name into the name of the boat, the boat gets into the water more often. she sure is pretty. now take your keys and run a small scratch somewhere on it. that way, you can do your crying over that first scratch at home.

How about "Woody"?
That might not work the way you want though because everytime someone asked you what kind of D.B. you had you would have to say,
"I got a woody."

"Sweet Thing" was the first thing the popped into my head when I looked it. Nice craftsmanship, it will turn heads on the water. Nice drifter.

Wow, nice looking boat!!
How come you didn't put on a metal chine? Seems like a wood one is going to get mangled pretty quickly.
