I have been lurking around here for about two months now and have decided that it's finally time to dive in. It has been great reading some of the thoughtful and informed posts from i-fishers. This is an excellent board.

Well I guess it is time for my obligatory fishing tale as I'm a "first poster" here. I have been hunting and fishing here in Oregon for many years (28 to be exact). There have been hundreds of memorable and fun experiences with family and friends, but for the life of me, I can't come up with any really great stories. I guess fishing and hunting is really more of an on-going tale, so I will just list a few of the more memorable occasions.

1. Trying to keep my young yellow lab from retrieving bobbers on my favorite north coast river.
2. Hunting snows at Summer Lake when it's 0-degrees and the sleet is blowing horizontal.
3. Fishing with my dad on the lower Rogue for half pounders and salmon. For those of you that fish the Rogue below Agness, we are the folks that camped every labor day at twin sisters from 1973 to about 1990.
4. The 28# hen I caught from the north end of the Ghost Hole last weekend. For the record, I caught it on plug-cut bait and shrimp oil. My first big Chinook out of the Bay.

As you might have guessed, I am a native southern Oregonian. Have lived up here for about ten years but am a rookie by most standards. Every year I learn a little more...

Looking forward to conversing with you all.

Tight lines.
