Hi, I was going to post some items in the for-sale section, and add a pic (less than 100kb) to the post.

In the PICTURE UPLOADS area, I get to Step-3,

"3. When your image appears on the top of the page, scroll down a little and hit the "Upload" button a second time. (Don't add or change any information that may appear in the form windows.) When the new page loads the first image should be yours ... although you may only see "large image click to view".

However, when I Upload the second time to refresh the screen, my image is not added to the sequence of images at page bottom.

If I repeat the process, I get the message that the [filename] has been uploaded recently and to rename the file. Thus indicating the pic did hit the Ifish server.

So it it my mistake or what? After an hour and a half I'm forced to ask.

Thanks for the advice!

Gary,
If it isn't file size, it could be file name ... that also has to be just right for the scripts to deal with it right. check your mail.

The file name is often the problem.

In fact, I've uploaded things over 100 k often, and it still works. :depressed:

Anyway, these are examples of file names that won't process:

1. this is my fish.jpg (This won't work, because there are spaces in the file name.)

2. thisismy~fish.jpg (This won't work, because there are other characters than letters in the file name, i.e., the tildy.)

3. thisismyfish.jpg (This won't work, because the filename is too long!)

ARGH!

OK, so if you try one of these, and it doesn't work, don't try it again. You'll have to rename it. So, I'll take a file that didn't work, go into the "MY COMPUTER" area, where it exists, and right click on it, and hit rename.
I type in something that will work, like fishcaught.jpg. That will work!

Or... fisha.jpg.

Now... One more problem that can occur. If you just name it fish.jpg, it won't work, cuz guaranteed, someone else has already used it.
Name your files to upload something unique. Either put a letter behind it, or describe it so that you can remember it.

Instead of trout.jpg, use trouta.jpg.

Get it? Does this help at all?

I've found that if you have your picture buried deep in subdirectories, it won't work either. I think the entire path has to be less than a certain number of characters or it won't do it.

For example:

c:/mydocuments/pitch/photos/2002downloads/outdoors/fishing/ocean/southcoast/salmon/09122002/bigfish/myfish.jpg

won't work, however:

c:/mydocuments/myfish.jpg

works just fine.
