I havn't fished the Salmon river for a month or so. Is it still productive now? I know it has a little earlier run. I had good luck in Setember, but due to work have not been able to get back.
Feel free to email, any help much appreciated
Thanks

I heard two guys talking at the bait shop that they fished the salmon today and were bragging on all the fish they were hooking below the hatchery and a few of them still were good smokers and they left with there limit.
This is why I dont fish the Salmon anymore.... graemlins/stupid.gif
100% dark fish below and above the hatchery
the fish want to spawn they do not want to be foul hooked bye a bunch of morons that think hooking 20-30 salmon in the back below the hatchery is fun...
Sorry I havn't not got off a salmon river blast all season I muttered my way threw all the threads so it is my turn to rant...
They should re-name that river the

I guess I have my answer
Where would a guy from Salem go then, its too early for steelhead, and too far of a drive to the Trask.
( if I had to get up at 0230 for the Salmon river, that would make it around midnight for the Trask or Nestucca.
I was hoping that some fresh fish were still coming in down there, a month ago it was really hot

Dude... 6 hours from Salem to the Trask? At no traffic early in the morning? Ya might want to drive a little faster! But to awnser your question, the Nestucca might be productive, i think I saw a post about bright fish ther in the last few days.

Or run up I-5 to the Clackamas, Lotsa summers and maybe a early winter... no pressure to speak of.
