A photographer and I will be on Tillamook Bay Friday, probably from 9 to 4-ish...We may be pulling spinners or spinning our wheels, but we're definitely interested in shooting pix of a big chinook. If you land one, please bring it by. We're in Steve Nehl's black alumaweld with a center console. Probly will stay mostly between sheep corral (heard there are some tuna milling around in a deep hole there) and picket fence or oyster house...I think we'll put in, though, at Garibaldi and they'll have my phone number if any large ones come in there.

I have a phone call to return from someone who says a 61-pounder was photographed this week at the Tillamook Outdoor Store.

We'll do a story in late November about all of the pigs this year...

Lynn and the person with the other 60-plus pounder from the Columbia...I'd like to talk with you, but lost my phone number notebook. Please try again at 503-221-8231 or 888-222-8231.

Also open to suggestions if anyone's heard of a good bite...

Thanks all...
Bill

Bill - I heard there's a herd of elk using the CG hole as a swimming pool  and a whale that's been spouting off in the Trask Slough. graemlins/eek13.gif Might want to check it out. graemlins/idea.gif http://www.ifish.net/uploads/455815295.gif

Course - nobody will believe it anyway, even with pictures. I'm not sure anyone's going to belive a picture of a bright Chinook either though, so you got nuttin to lose!

PS - Take a blanket!

Carefull AD11, Carefull.

No way for another guide to be promoting oneself.

Marv knows his stuff.

Besides, if you havent run a sled up on a sanbar in Tillamook bay, its just a matter of time.

Reminds me of an old saying. "There are two types of boats on this river. Those that have flipped (whitewater)/ ran up on a sand bar (tidewater), and those that will." Adapt that saying to your favorite piece of water.

Everybody is such and expert. Just ask them.

Mark

What is it they say S___ Happens. I will have to give him a bad time about it though.

I have fished with Marv for about six years now. I don't know of many guides that work as hard as Marv does. I'm sure there out there I just haven't met them yet.

Whitecap and I will be hoping the ocean welcomes us out Friday thru Sunday. There's hogs out there, lurking... We'll have Jeff or Val give you a call when we bring in the BIG ONE(S).

Sorry, but that job's taken...Also can't trust the size of any fish that can be held that high with one arm...or especially a pair...one 60-pounder will do and it's probably outside the bar, if I can get Steve out there...Oh, by the way, everyone keeps mentioning stuck on sandbars in the bay...is there sand? I thought they were all mud bars...

Didn't click on Keta's first post until just now, but sure wish he (she?) hadn't used this thread for it...I don't much care for that kind of thinking and while it's undoubtedly not what Jennie was referring too, it sure qualifies as non-fishing related, even if you're just having fun.
Lighten up?
Sure will...first thing in the morning. Bring by a 40- or better (FISH!) and we'll take care of the rest...Might even give you one of the spinners that hasn't worked yet.

Thanks again...

I'm trying to figure out which ramp at Tillamook can be totally clogged up by one boat taking out? I too have fished with Marv, both as a client and just at times as friends. I met him thru Tualatin Valley Steelheaders where he gave alot of time and effort to the chapter and its members. Always found him to be courtious(sp) and extremely helpful. I have taken out late on alot of days to find Marv being the last guide out trying to get fish for his clients.

As long as we were talking about "Marv"....someone said he knows his stuff. The last time I saw him on the ramp...taking out....he had the whole thing blocked up to where nobody could move for about 10 minutes, while he stowed gear for the trip home. Maybe he knows his stuff...he also knows rude and inconsiderate from this fellow fisherman. graemlins/stupid.gif
